Sergio Aguero - Another first for icons!

by Steve 6. May 2010 16:09

We don't like to show off at icons, but over the years we've had an eye for a promising youngster that can only be rivaled by Arsene Wenger.  For example, World Player of the Year Lionel Messi carried out his first signing with icons aged just 17.  This week we were in Spain again to meet up with the player many are tipping to emulate Messi as the world's greatest in the years to come, 20 year-old Athletico Madrid and Argentinean striker Sergio Aguero.

Ok, so Aguero may have made his professional debut aged just 15 years and 35 days old, but we're still the first company to carry out a signing!  The player whose record Aguero broke when making his debut is none other than Argentinean legend Diego Maradona.  For those who aren't aware, Aguero is married to Maradona's daughter.  At the Aguero signing we also met another youngster who's sure to have the footballing world at his feet, well in around 2025 maybe, Aguero's son and Maradona's grandson...

Best of luck from all the team at icons to Sergio for the upcoming Europa League Final, and this summer's World Cup (unless Argentina face England, of course).

Kaká - signed by the world's best

by Dan 1. May 2010 16:16

Kaká is truly one of the greats of the modern game. He was FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and was involved in the second biggest transfer of all-time when he moved from Italian giants AC Milan to Real Madrid last summer as the first of the new wave of Galaticos.

Kaká wears the coveted Brazil number 10 shirt, following in the footsteps of such legends as Pele and Zico. His is the main creative force for the national team who go into this summer's World Cup as joint favourites and the number one team in the world. He's played in two World Cups before and we've got signed photos of him scoring his only World Cup goal against Croatia in 2006.

For AC Milan he won Serie A and memorably won the Champions League in 2007 gained some revenge over Liverpool after they defeated his team in the classic Istanbul final two years earlier. It was in that season and with AC that he was officially declared the world's best player by FIFA.

This summer he moved from AC Milan to Real Madrid for £56m as the first Galatico of the second Perez era. Not only do we have Kaka signed Real shirts but we also have dual signed Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka shirts -  a truly unique piece of memorabilia for any collector.

Kaka is already a legend and this summer at icons we're all looking forward to seeing him parade his unique skills on the biggest stage of all.

Wayne Rooney signed shirts - at last!

by Steve 6. April 2010 16:41

Although we all support different clubs at icons, there's one team that lets us all enjoy the (rare) highs and (regular) lows together... England.  As such we've been wanting to meet up with England's greatest player Wayne Rooney for quite some time.  With Dan and Edward in the States and Natalie looking after base camp, Tom and I were the lucky ones who got to meet the Manchester United superstar.

On top of discussing the footballing world with Wayne, we also found out he's a big fan of signed memorabilia himself and agreed to pick him up a Diego Maradona shirt when we next meet up with the legendary Argentinean.

Take a look at Rooney's incredible range of personally hand-signed Manchester United and England shirts, photographs and boots now and make sure you don't miss out on the piece you want.  With the World Cup just around the corner, this could be the smartest investment you ever make...

New Fernando Torres memorabilia available

by Dan 21. August 2009 12:28

Fernando Torres recently conducted his sixth signing for icons; we are delighted to have a new range of products available.

Fans will be excited to learn we have photos from two of Liverpool's greatest victories last season, showing Fernando's celebrations after scoring against both Real Madrid and Manchester United.

We also have a limited edition of embroidered Euro 2008 Spain shirts. There are currently no more of these shirts available on the market so it is unlikely we will be able to offer this product again in the future.

Check back soon when we will be unveiling a new, very limited edition shirt signed with his special El Nino signature.

Torres signs again for Icons

by Dan 29. November 2008 11:06

He loved the new images we have of him and we were only too happy to present him with a photo of him scoring the winning goal in Euro 2008 against Germany. We're sure he'll have it on his wall before long – and you can too. Check out our new Torres products; as well as the Euro 2008 goal, there's a great new photo of Fernando after scoring against Everton this season, plus we've reprinted the fantastic image of his first goal for Liverpool. It's a real favourite, and it seems we can't print enough of them.

We've also created a new range of limited edition signed away shirts and signed Champions League shirts. Fernando only signed ten each of these, so they are an extremely rare and collectable item of sports memorabilia. We've also created a new range of limited edition signed away shirts and signed Champions League shirts.
