Icons.com is the world’s leading supplier of signed football merchandise from the world’s greatest players. We have a long history of doing signings with the biggest names in world football - Pele, Maradona, Messi, Torres, Kaka, Rooney, Ronaldo for instance. We have recently signed a deal with FIFA to be their official supplier and as such we have ambitious international growth plans for the coming years.

Job role

The role is required to join a rapidly-expanding, exciting online business that sells signed football merchandise to the public through a state of the art website. We require a web developer to work with us to maintain and develop our core website.

The website was developed by Zone (www.zonecontent.com) our parent company. This is the first step in providing the technical resource in house. Zone’s development team will provide training and will initially pass on their knowledge about the technical aspects of the site, however the right candidate will be responsible for the site.

Responsibilities will include

Core development of our e-commerce website – e.g. moving from Flash panels to javascript equivalents, reorganising the home page furniture

Maintaining the multi-lingual versions

Bug-fixing

Testing developments before they go live on multiple browsers

Organising and liaising with a web hosting company

Running database queries for marketing purposes

Liaising with our IT support person to help maintain office IT infrastructure

You will be joining a five man team in a business that is experiencing rapid growth. There are many opportunities to develop within a young, dynamic company.

The role will report directly to the Operations Director

There is a limited opportunity to meet the players themselves during one of our regular signings.

Skills & job requirements

Two years experience developing online solutions using ASP.NET and SQL server, preferably in an e-commerce environment or agency side

Front end HTML & CSS coding skills

Knowlegde of javascript programming

Flash programming skills are desirable

Understanding of the impact of SEO on website visibility

Perfect English

Self-starter

Enthusiasm

Love of football, and sport in general
